The definition of insanity: Trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.
This immigration bill is outrageous.
For all you liberals out there -- this has been tried once before, and it didn't work, what makes you liberals and Democrats in Congress think that this time will be any different? Last time we did the EXACT SAME THING as we are doing right now. And since the passing of that bill in 1985 has immigration gone down? No, in fact, it has only gotten WORSE since that bill. And for good reason to, if you were about to immigrate to the United States, and they suddenly started to grant amnesty to current immigrants, wouldn't that make you want to travel illegally too? Knowing that the US would grant you amnesty?
And not to mention about the current legal immigrants waiting in line, do you think that it is fair for people that have waited YEARS to become legal immigrants to just have the people that came to the country illegally granted amnesty? That is not fair. We have rules in the United States regarding immigrants -- they should be enforced.
The liberals of course avoid the word 'amnesty' but it is really what they are saying, They may have to pay a small fine for being illegal, but say they have to pay 5 thousand dollars to pay for their citizenship, Now at first it may seem like that that is unfair, but sit down and think about it. Each immigrant will be on welfare, how much will that cost? And odds are each are going to be on social security, so for every five thousand each immigrant puts out, how much is the government going to pay them? A lot more then 5 thousand dollars.
Once again, this has been tried before, and it failed miserably -- what makes the liberals think that this is going to be any different from last time? In my opinion the solution to this is to fortify our borders, and ENFORCE THE RULES. It is currently against the law to employ an illegal alien, and yet it is still happening. I think this country would be better off if we simply enforced the current laws.
